Even our pets frequently suffer from eye problems.
We aim to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases that seriously interfere with vision, guaranteeing a good quality of life.
Some of the most common eye diseases are:
- corneal diseases (ulcers, keratitis, keratoconjunctivitis, degeneration)
- diseases of the lacrimal system
- uveitis (intraocular inflammation)
- lens luxation
- retinal diseases with impairment or loss of vision
- congenital and acquired eyelid anomalies
- eyelid and eye tumors
- ocular trauma
- congenital anomalies
We use the most modern diagnostic techniques, including biomicroscopy, direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy, tonometry and laboratory tests (cytology, biopsy, tests for infectious diseases); we can also perform ocular ultrasound and computerised axial tomography (CAT).
We provide comprehensive ophthalmic surgery services, including emergency and ordinary care and referrals from other veterinary centres.
Ophthalmic examinations are carried out by appointment by Veterinarian Borgonovo, who is present several days a week; For any issues identified during the initial consultation or in the emergency room, the other physicians in the team will conduct a comprehensive evaluation and communicate with the department head to determine the optimal course of action while awaiting further consultation.
